On what has probably been the hottest and sunniest day of the year so far, I had the absolute pleasure to spend the day with Cate and Neil and their family and friends to enjoy the wedding celebrations. They are a young couple who happen to live just down the road and friends kindly recommended me to Cate's mum, Michelle.

As their special day drew closer we headed to the Smugglers for a meet-up and chat about their plans for the day to make sure everything went smoothly and was as stress free as possible.
Cate wore a beautiful vintage style dress from County Cream and Neil and his groomsmen had very dapper tweeds with caps and colourful purple ties.
The weather on the day was spectacular and after a relaxed morning in accommodation near the Smugglers, shooting some getting ready shots, we headed to Truro with Cate arriving in a fantastic VW campervan that has been lovingly cared for.

Cate was given away by her grandfather, this is one of my favourite shots of the day and one which I hope will grow in significance as time passes.

It was lovely to watch the scene unfold as Neil and Cate took their vows and exchanged rings, hardly taking their eyes off each other for a second!!

After the ceremony, we headed off to Crantock beach to make the most of the sunshine and to capture some couples shots, giving Cate and Neil a bit of a breather following the busy morning.

After being fed handsomely (thanks guys!) and shooting the speeches, cake cutting and groups, we took a little more time out to make the most of a corn field next door to the pub which had grown to a perfect height since the pre-meet a few weeks before. The couple enjoyed their first dance and I set up some off-camera flashes to backlight them, thinking that the shots would suit some black and white images to match their vintage theme.

Cate and Neil were absolutely the best couple to work for and they were relaxed and happy to go with the flow to capture some images to be enjoyed for years to come. Bucketfuls of laughter, lots of smiles and happy faces (a few tears Michelle!!) A perfect day. Very best wishes to Cate and Neil for their future together and big hugs to all, not forgetting the gorgeous little Imogen of course. Xx

I'm lucky enough to have had photos featured here:
I am a Cornwall based wedding photographer who is passionate about what he does, I shoot in a largely documentary style which is based on observing and capturing your day as it happens but with a mix of group shots and couples portraits which is discussed and planned with each bride and groom on an individual, bespoke basis. My aim is to take the stress out of having your photos taken on one of the best days of your life and I understand that not everyone likes to be photographed. I'll work with you and your guests to achieve natural shots and will gently guide you through the day without lots of poses.
Here are some of the kind words that previous peeps have said:
"thank you so much for our amazing photos, they capture the day brilliantly. Ian and I really enjoyed looking through them and re-living the day when we got back from honeymoon. It was a pleasure to have you at our wedding, you slotted in just like one of the guests. We will certainly be recommending you to our friends and family. Many thanks" - Ellie and Ian (Bride and Groom)
"Scott, thank you so much for our gorgeous wedding pics. The day was amazing and you put us both at ease. A brilliant recommendation from VB and we won't hesitate to recommend you to our friends!" - Hayley (Bride)
"Thank you so much for all your hard work. Your amazing ability to appear from behind bushes and catch people relaxed and enjoying the day was wonderful. We had lots of coments from guests saying how lovely you were. I hope your arm doesn't ache too much. We can't wait to see the pictures Thank you again xx Scott - it is totally amazing thank you for creating an incredible record of a very special day (yes I'm crying again) xxx" - Michelle (Bride's mum)
"Thank you Scott for a fantastic day! Scott fully understands how to capture the true emotions of a wedding. Keeping photos as natural as possible but at the same time producing a truly professional picture. He maintained a non-intrusive but a relaxed atmosphere, making guests feel at ease so as to capture the best moments. Scott is someone that we highly recommend....FANTASTIC!!!!!!!" - Lana (Bride)
"Couldn't have asked for any more. Fantastic, thoughtful photos and a pleasure to have with us on our big day. Thanks Scott!" - Rich (Groom)
"Scott was a dream to work with from start to finish. He captured our day perfectly and has given us an amazing record to keep forever. His photos are beautiful and now treasured. I can't recommend him highly enough - you will be in safe hands throughout the whole process. Xx" - Jen (Bride)
